The annual garden party at Rogers House took place on Saturday 6th August, with residents, their relatives and staff getting together to enjoy some fun in the sun.
The Wigmore residential home hosts its garden party every summer, inviting the residents’ relatives to join their loved ones and staff for an afternoon of entertainment and this year, they were very lucky that the sun decided to make an appearance.
As well as the usual lawn games and raffle, residents and their guests were treated to a reminiscent afternoon as an Elvis Presley impersonator provided the soundtrack. Whilst serenading some, a number of the residents opted to dance their afternoon away whilst singing to the nostalgic songs.
Whilst enjoying Elvis’ performance and the games on offer, the residents and their guests relished the sunshine whilst sipping Pimm’s and lemonade and tucking into a delicious cream tea.
Lorraine Laker, home manager of Rogers House commented: “Our garden parties are always great fun as a number of our relatives come along and join us for the occasion. We are very proud of our family atmosphere here at Rogers House and events like this support us in strengthening that even more. We were very lucky with the warm and sunny weather too, which just made it even better!”
