Holcroft Grange, the CLS-run care home in Warrington, is set to spread some summer fun amongst its residents as it raised £545 at its annual Summer Fair. Proceeds from the fair will go directly to Holcroft Grange’s activity fund, which is used to pay for trips and days out for residents at the home.
The care home, a registered charity, held its annual Summer Fair at a local community centre and invited the community to enjoy a number of classic fair stalls run by staff, residents and volunteers.
Many of the stalls, which included a tombola, a sweet stall and a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ stand, were made possible thanks to generous prize donations from local businesses and members of the community. Visitors were also offered the opportunity to enjoy the summer weather with outdoor refreshments.
Nicola Newens, Activity Coordinator at Holcroft Grange, commented: “It was fantastic see so many visitors at our Summer Fair and we were bowled over by everyone’s generosity. I’d like to say a huge thank you to the staff, residents and volunteers who helped make the fair a success – it wouldn’t have been possible without their hard work.”
Shirley Paton, Home Manager at Holcroft Grange, added: “The Summer Fair was a huge success and we’re delighted to have raised over £500 for the home’s activity fund. As a charitable organisation, it’s wonderful to see members of the local community get involved in our fundraising activities, and we are extremely grateful for everyone’s generosity.”
