Norfolk residential care home welcomes new home manager

St Leonards CourtSt Leonards Court residential Home in Mundford, Norfolk is proudly announcing the appointment of its new home manager. Shelley Jarred brings with her a wealth of experience from the NHS.

St Leonards Court, which is situated in the village of Mundford on the edge of Thetford Forest, is part of the Healthcare Homes Group and provides specialist care for elderly people living with dementia. Recently rated as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the home provides high quality care services, combined with a range of activities to meet the needs of those living at the home.

Shelley, who is from Norfolk, began her career in the NHS over 16 years ago, joining as a nursing assistant before working her way up to the position of orthopaedic practitioner at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.  Following this, she worked as a senior orthopaedic practitioner in Bury St Edmunds where she helped set up a virtual fracture clinic, which has recently been highly rated by the CQC.

Having always been interested in dementia care, Shelley made the decision to move into a residential care home setting and was appointed to the role of Home Manager at St Leonards Court.

Shelley comments; “I have really enjoyed my first few weeks at St Leonards Court and I am looking forward to working with the fantastic team here to further improve the care we provide for our residents.  I personally believe that if you are in the care profession you should treat everyone as if they are a relative, and that everyone deserves equality, dignity and respect.

I am extremely passionate about my work – I want St Leonards Court to be known as an excellent place to work and a sector leader in the service it provides.  If the residents and staff are happy then I am too, so I will be looking to work with my team, our residents and their relatives to continue to build on the good work we deliver.”
