Service users and staff at Eilat care home in Charminster, Bournemouth, used their annual summer barbeque to celebrate the service’s ten year anniversary.
Joined by loved ones and friends, the Eilat community enjoyed an activity-packed afternoon, tucking into a delicious barbeque while being entertained by a live band that created a fun-filled party atmosphere.
With the summer sunshine blazing, the barbecue would not have been complete without refreshing treats. Service users took great delight in diligently dispensing over 100 ice creams at a home-made stall in Eilat’s picturesque back garden, which has recently been landscaped thanks to an eager group of National Citizenship Service (NCS) volunteers.
Four members of staff, including Eilat’s current Home Manager, Marie McDevitt, also took the opportunity to celebrate their ten year work anniversary at Eilat, having started working at the home on the day it opened in 2006.
Eilat’s Home Manager, Marie McDevitt, said:
“We had a fantastic afternoon welcoming many friends and loved ones for a relaxed and fun barbecue to celebrate Eilat’s ten year anniversary.
“We pride ourselves on providing high quality, person-centred care, and we are delighted that so many friends and loved ones could join us for the anniversary celebrations.
“A great time was had by all, and we look forward to hosting more events this summer!”
