Residents of Woodgate Residential Home in Tonbridge were joined by their relatives and staff this weekend, to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.
Residents of the Tudeley Lane residential home didn’t let the wet and stormy weather ruin their weekend when they got together to commemorate the Queen’s birthday with a special celebration.
Despite staff having planned a garden party and barbecue, the rain forced residents and their guests back inside, but the party still went ahead nonetheless.
With the dining room adorned with flags and British themed decorations, the residents tucked into their sausages whilst listening to music and chatting to one another about their memories of the Queen’s past.
Leah Gale, activity coordinator at Woodgate said: “Unfortunately the rain and thunderstorms meant we couldn’t have our barbecue outside but the residents didn’t let that get them down.
“They had a lovely afternoon reminiscing and socialising with one another and it was really excellent to see so many family members come along and join in with the fun too.”
