Albion Care Communities (“ACC”), a newly launched investor and developer of luxury care homes for the elderly, today announces that it has commenced its first development of a new care home in Wareham, Dorset. The new state of the art luxury care home is due to open in the summer of 2017. It will provide facilities for 64 residents including a cafe, cinema room, hairdressing salon, dedicated activities spaces and extensive landscaped gardens. The en-suite bedrooms will be furnished to the highest standard of comfort. Care services will include residential care, nursing care and dementia care.
ACC plans to become a leading regional investor and developer across the South East and has secured the necessary funding to underpin its ambitious development programme. The homes will operate under the Mayflower brand.
ACC was founded by a team with significant experience of developing, commissioning and operating private elderly care homes, combining over 100 years of health and social care experience. ACC is chaired by Mike Parsons, founder of Barchester Healthcare and a main board director of McCarthy & Stone, where he is also chairman of the remuneration committee. The principal shareholders of ACC are the management team and the partners of Albion Ventures LLP, a venture capital fund manager with a long record of successfully backing growing companies.
Mike Parsons, Chairman of Albion Care Communities, said: “Albion Care Communities has been established in order to respond to the growing demand for premium care homes for the elderly across the South of England. The Wareham site is at the heart of the local community and fits very naturally with our model, which is focused on delivering premium care services to private payers. We have secured further development sites and significant funding facilities which underpin our ambitious investment programme.”
