NicoleBennHomeManagerNesfield Lodge care home in Belle Isle, Leeds, has welcomed a new manager with an impressive background in care management, who has a strong vision for the forty-four bed home.

Nicole Benn began her career in care as an enthusiastic nineteen year old, and quickly progressed up the career ladder to unit manager within five years. Developing strong working relationships with healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists and physiotherapists, Nicole has worked across a broad spectrum of care environments, including dementia specialisms and end of life care.

Nicole was fast-tracked in her previous roles at Chartlon Court, Pudsey, and opened a new twenty-two bed Dementia unit in 2014, before moving on to manage the sixty bed nursing home in early 2015. At the age of 27, Nicole is one of the youngest home managers in the Orchard Care Homes portfolio and is currently completing a QCF level 7 in Strategic management and leadership.

Comments Nicole; “I am delighted to be joining the team at Nesfield Lodge, the staff have created a warm and friendly home and the care is exceptional. I’m passionate about supporting residents to live life to their best, and with HenPower here, (our resident hens!) and a really strong bond with the community, especially the local schools, I think we are doing well.

“I came here in March and I already feel really settled.”

In the first few months, Nicole has already supported and implemented new techniques in the home’s kitchen to make food more appealing and enjoyable for residents who have the condition dysphagia, which is difficulty with swallowing.

Outside work Nicole can be found socialising with friends and family.
