At 86 years old, Betty Freestone has decided to retire from Hicare Homes. Betty has been with Hicare Homes since they took over the running of Meadow’s Court in 1998, however her career at the home began in the late 1970’s.
Betty’s career has spanned throughout a lot of roles at the home from a care assistant, housekeeper, kitchen assistant etc. Betty can always been seen with a smile on her face. She is one of the resident’s favourite staff members and this is reflected in her dedication to them all past and present. Yvonne Griffiths, Registered Manager of Meadow’s Court, said “Betty is very hardworking and whilst we are sad to see her leave us, we would like to wish her a happy retirement.”
To celebrate Betty’s retirement, Hicare Homes hosted a surprise party for her; attended by current and former staff members, company Directors and residents. Betty was presented with a an engraved plaque and flower arrangement to commemorate her years of service, as well as commemorative photo album, a homemade cake and a card produced by her colleagues and residents.
Hicare Homes Managing Director, Mr. Satnam Nanuwa, who attended the party said “We are honoured to have received so many years of service from Betty. Your friendship will be missed by us all.”
