OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Abbeyfield Kent Society’s two Gravesend residential homes, Dene Holm and Edward Moore House, both came together at the weekend for a special celebration to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Dene Holm Residential Home in Northfleet was full to the brim at the weekend, when their friends from the Trinity Road residential home joined the residents for an afternoon of celebratory fun and games.

Residents and their guests enjoyed reminiscing about the Queen’s reign and their younger days, whilst relishing the entertainment and music on offer. Staff had also adorned the home with flags, photos and trivia about the Queen, for the residents to browse.

In addition to the entertainment, a tasty barbecue lunch was on the cards for the residents, as well as refreshments in the form of the British summer time favourite, Pimm’s and lemonade.

Christine Hutchinson, home manager of Dene Holm commented: “Many of our residents remember the Queen being crowned, so it was lovely for them to be able to celebrate her birthday together and share their memories with one another.”
