Marlborough care home changes hands as former owners retire

Care homes recognised for their commitment to wellbeing, dignity and choice-care industry newsMarlborough Lodge Care Home on London Road in Marlborough has been sold to new owners – Fidelity Healthcare Limited.

After running the home since 2002, Sue Harper and her husband Dave have decided to place the home on the market due to Sue’s ill health and after a period of targeted and confidential marketing, their chosen agent – leading care home specialists, Christie & Co – were able to secure a sale to a new entrant to the care sector, Fidelity Healthcare Limited which is run by experienced healthcare professional Fezan Islam.

The home, which is registered to care for up to 18 elderly clients with dementia, has established an excellent reputation under Sue’s leadership and provides a robust platform on which the new owner can build.

Commenting on the sale, Simon Harvey, Director in Christie & Co’s South West Care team said: “We are delighted to have assisted Sue and Dave during what has been a very challenging time for them.

“We are seeing a very strong demand for care homes of all sizes and specialties across the South West. The region is still very popular both as a retirement destination and as a preferred location for care services, which leads to a high demand from both buyers and residents for good quality facilities throughout the county.”

Fezan Islam of Fidelity Healthcare Limited commented: “We are delighted to be taking over such an excellent home and look forward to working with everyone involved.  I would like to thank Sue and Dave for all that they have done and wish them a peaceful future.”

Marlborough Lodge was sold for an undisclosed figure having been marketed at a guide price of £975,000
