People in Newbury can now get a glimpse of what life will be like at the town’s newest care home.
A show suite will be open for the public to look round from Tuesday 29th March at Gracewell of Newbury, a new state-of-the-art residential care, dementia and nursing home which will be fully opened later in the year.
The home, which is being developed for provider Gracewell Healthcare, will combine the facilities and services of a high quality care home, with the design and feel of a boutique hotel.
Each Gracewell room is modelled after a star from the golden age of Hollywood cinema. Residents can choose from interiors styled on actors including Cary Grant and Marilyn Monroe.
Whilst the décor of the rooms helps to make residents feel genuinely at home, every aspect of their design has been considered and chosen to provide safety and security to residents. These include specially selected carpets and wallpaper for those residents living with dementia and other forms of memory loss.
Once completed Gracewell of Newbury will be able to care for approximately 65 residents and will provide around 70 jobs in the area.
