Glasgow care home, Rowandale House is delighted to announce that Care Home Manager, John Park was awarded the title of ‘Care Home Manager of the Year’ at a recent company awards ceremony.

Every year the nation-wide company which owns Rowandale holds an awards ceremony in which to honour and recognise committed and deserving individuals within the organisation.   This year the spotlight was on John, who was honoured for his dedication, approachable nature and second to none leadership skills.

Manager John Parks was however not the only Rowandale employee to receive awards – Lifestyle Coordinator, Tracey Gurie received ‘Staff Member of the Year’ and several of our Care Assistants received awards for training achievements and completing SVQs.

Since becoming part of Forth Care in 2014, Rowandale (formally known as Nithsdale House) has undergone a wide-ranging transformation thanks to the commitment of Director, Colin Smart.  Since works began in 2014 Rowandale House has not only welcomed a change of name but has also enjoy an extensive facilities up-grade that has resulted in a fantastic Care Inspectorate report which has seen all of our grades raised to an impressive 4.   Now that all refurbishments have been completed we are expecting 5s/6s at our next inspection.

When asked about Rowandales progress and future, Care Home Manager John Parks, had this to say –

“As you know we care for 28 ladies and gentlemen with varying levels of physical disabilities and stages of dementia.  In order to provide the best standard our care for these residents we looked to Forth Care for guidance and assistance and were overwhelmed at the support we were given. Not only have we had beautiful cosmetic alterations throughout our entire home, we now have amazing training support for staffing teams which allows staff continual progression of their skillset and knowledge.  We are also delighted to now be active members of our local community with strong links to numerous local organisations including GPs, NHS contacts, places of worship and local social institutes.  I feel extremely fortunate to be at the helm of such a fantastic team here at Rowandale Nursing Home and I can say with confidence that we can now look towards 2016 with a spring in our step knowing that we can deliver the very best level of care and support to our residents and relatives”.
