Whitley Bay care home celebrates a decade of caring

Celebrations at Earsdon GrangeA Wellfield care home has been celebrating a decade of success as it hosted a big ‘birthday bash’ in honour of the 10th anniversary of the home opening.

The party spirit was in full force at Earsdon Grange care home, a 48 bedded home which offers residential care for the elderly and for those living with dementia, as well-wishers joined residents and staff for a lavish party featuring live entertainment, buffet and champagne reception.

It was a gathering of old friends and new as residents and their families were joined by families of former residents, those who had stayed at the home for short term respite breaks and healthcare professionals.

Ruth Galloway & Nicola BellAlso at the party was the home’s longest serving member of staff Care Assistant Ruth Galloway who has been with the home since it opened its doors back in 2005. In honour of her long service to the residents of Earsdon Grange, she was presented with flowers and champagne from Care Manager Nicola Bell.

Nicola, who has been manager of the home for almost five years, was thrilled with the anniversary party success: “It was a brilliant day for all involved. Despite the awful weather on the day the home was packed and everyone was in great spirits . We are really touched by the huge show of support from residents, families and friends of Earsdon Grange. There really was no better way to celebrate the home’s 10th birthday.”

The future looks bright for the home which last year was named as the 10th most highly recommended care homes in the North East in a poll by carehome.co.uk based on reviews from residents and their families.

Earsdon Grange care home is owned by UK care provider Countrywide Care Homes. Regional Director Stephen Young said: “Congratulations to Nicola and her team at Earsdon Grange for reaching the 10 year milestone. We are very proud of the care standards, whilst still keeping the homely, welcoming feel that many homes can only strive to achieve.”
