Staff, residents, and family members at Sunrise Senior Living, the specialist provider of residential, assisted living, and dementia care, recently communally crafted a ‘Chain of Hope’ to raise awareness of dementia.
The chain was made up of variously coloured posters on which participants wrote their personal thoughts and experiences about what dementia means to them. Every link on the garland tells a different story.
Initially a project intended only for the sales team, the initiative generated so much enthusiasm that hundreds of team and family members eventually participated. In this way, everyone extended their support to residents, families, and those living with dementia. The final length of the garland was an impressive 23.87 metres.
The initiative has raised noteworthy funding for Alzheimer’s Society through donations for t-shirts, which are still being collected.
