A Paisley care home is celebrating with merry spirit after its annual festive fete to mark the start of the holiday season raised over £1000.
Bupa’s Elderslie Care Home recently hosted its winter celebration, which featured many activities including a baking stall, a raffle and knitting lessons from a local community member.
Relatives and residents helped to man the stalls – which also featured arts and crafts and candles, as well as Christmas cards handmade by residents, their families and friends.
The proceeds will go into the Elderslie activity fund which helps residents to have access to even more events such as day trips, outings and various other leisurely activities
Fiona Truesdale, Home Manager at Bupa’s Elderslie Care Home, said: “Creating a fete full of activities and games is a great way for residents to enjoy the festivities and join in the fun.
“At Elderslie, we aim to ensure our residents have the best quality of life. Our activities go down a storm with them so we make sure we put as much emphasis into our programme as possible.
“The money raised from the event is a boost for our activity fund, helping out residents to participate in even more new enjoyable events and activities and we are looking forward to planning many more of these in the New Year with the fantastic £1000 we have raised
