Scoonie House resident Margaret McNeill has designed Scoonie’s official Christmas card for 2015. Her family also received a gift of 50 cards of the winning design to send to friends and relatives.
The Leven care home, owned by Caring Homes, holds an annual Christmas card competition for its 36 residents. This year, 83 year old Margaret’s design of a fabric tree decorated with sequins was judged the winner. She made the card over a series of arts and crafts activity sessions, held at the home in September.
Scoonie House Manager, Melanie MacDonald, said: “This is a lovely competition and creates a bit of a buzz in the home. We have quite a few new residents this year who have been able to take up crafting again, having not been able to do it for a while.
“On the judging day, we hold a tea afternoon and anyone present at Scoonie votes on their favourite design. Margaret was quite emotional when she won.”
