The 19th Century Ramsbottom home, which provides residential, nursing and dementia care, provided the perfect backdrop for the festive fayre, which welcomed residents’ families, friends and visitors from the local area.
The event was held in the home’s terrace lounge, which overlooks the Rossendale Valley.
Stalls included best sellers the sock snowmen and personalised plates for Santa’s mince pie and Rudolph’s carrots. These were all lovingly handmade by the residents of Lavender Hills – with help from Activities Coordinator Lucy Henderson. There was also a tombola and a raffle with lots of very generous donations from a number of local businesses.
Lavender Hills’ manager Helen Inman said:
We are delighted that the day was such a success and everyone had a great time. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in organising the event, along with the local community and businesses who supported it so generously.’
More than £460 was raised for the residents’ fund, which will go towards something special for the residents this Christmas and throughout next year.
