Spirits were high at High Peak Care Home in Cheshire as residents, their families, and members of staff partied away at a celebratory event, after the service was awarded Beacon Status in Palliative Care as part of the Gold Standards Framework.
To celebrate the attainment of the well-respected accolade, residents and their guests gathered for an evening of entertainment and a buffet, which included party favourites such as sausage rolls and flan.
The Gold Standards Framework is a highly commended award which is well-recognised throughout the care sector, and Beacon status is the highest standard achievable. In order to achieve ‘Beacon’ status, the High Peak team had to demonstrate their expertise around end of life care.
High Peak Nursing Home is part of Embrace, and provides nursing and palliative care for older people, working in a person-centred way to identify individual goals and ambitions, focusing on enablement and the promotion of personal dignity.
Service Manager, Sharon Branner, commented:
“An entertaining evening was had by all. I am very proud of the whole staff team, and the award recognises the tremendous effort everyone puts in to providing only the highest quality care and support for residents.”
