On 17 November, Viera Gray House, a care home in Barnes, joined Greensleeves Homes Trust. Greensleeves is an award-winning care home charity that cares for more than 750 residents at its 20 homes across England. Viera Gray House is the third care home to join the Trust this year, following the opening of a brand new home in Diss, Norfolk and welcoming an existing nursing home in Sevenoaks to the Trust in June.
Viera Gray House is an attractive 38-bed, purpose-built, care home located in the heart of leafy Barnes. The home provides excellent residential, dementia and respite care, while supporting residents to organise and manage their own lifestyles.
During the recent CQC inspection in September 2015, one of the residents of Viera Gray House said: “I’ve been here three years and the home’s great strength is the care, which has been outstanding.”
As a highly innovative provider of care for older people, Greensleeves Homes Trust has successfully introduced the Eden Alternative approach to care in many of its care homes and will be extending these principles at Viera Gray House. The Eden philosophy seeks to improve the quality of life for residents and provides a framework to transform traditional approaches to care into the creation of communities where older people grow and thrive.
Paul Newman, Chief Executive of Greensleeves Homes Trust commented: “We are delighted to welcome one of the best care homes in South West London to the Greensleeves family. We look forward to supporting the residents, relatives, staff and the local community in Barnes to ensure Viera Gray House remains a thriving and happy place to live and work”.
