Residents of a Kenilworth care home were tickled pink after raising vital funds to combat breast cancer.


Kenilworth Manor Care Home held the special charity event for the official Big Pink Day for breast care awareness on 23rd October.

Residents were joined by their families, friends and neighbours for the fun day, making pink paper flowers, taking part in a pink keep fit class, a pink ‘pick a number’ sweep and games.

Residents and staff at Kenilworth Manor.Raising an impressive £360 for Breast Cancer Care, they also enjoyed a buffet lunch with pink fizz at the three-storey, restored Victorian mansion.

Joy Thorpe, activities coordinator at the Thickthorn Orchards home, said: “We want to thank everyone who attended and helped us raise money for such an important cause.

“The aim is that by 2050 no-one should die from breast cancer. It would be lovely if our contribution has helped in even a small way to make that goal achievable. We all had an amazing day, particularly the residents who played a key role in the planning and preparations.”
