Residents and staff at Nunthorpe Oaks care home in Cleveland are celebrating after the service became part of an elite group to be awarded a five star rating from Middlesbrough Council, as part of the annual Residential Care Quality Review.
Nunthorpe Oaks is one of only two services to have been awarded the five star rating. Services are required by Middlesbrough Council to achieve over 90% in each assessment category for to be eligible for the highest rating. Inspections are unannounced, and the Quality Measurement Review evaluates care homes against criteria such as the quality and performance of the service, and the extent to which continuous improvement is taking place.
The inspections are coordinated by Middlesbrough Council’s Department of Social Care, which operate a ‘Quality Star Rating’ system for residential care homes.
Jenny Stubbs, Home Manager at Nunthorpe Oaks, commented:
“We are delighted with the five star rating from the Residential Care Quality Review, and commend Middlesbrough Council for promoting high standards of care in the area.
We continually strive to deliver the highest quality care and support for the residents of Nunthorpe Oaks, and this rating reflects the hard work of our staff team.”
Nunthorpe Oaks Care Home is part of Embrace, and provides residential and palliative care for older people.
