Gracewell Healthcare-care industry newsCare provider, Gracewell Healthcare, has been helping residents at two of its homes get into the summer spirit by laying on parties for the whole community.

Abercorn House in Hampshire and Parker Meadows in Portsmouth threw open their doors and gardens to families from their local areas for afternoons of music, dancing and activities.

There were performances from singers, magic shows and bouncy castles – and there was even a visit from a mobile farm.

True to the British summertime theme, at Abercorn House, there was also a candy floss stall. The events also helped to raise funds for charities including  Cancer Research UK and Dementia UK.

Racquel Barretto, Home Manager at Abercorn House, said:

It was a fantastic event, which brought together people of all ages from across the community. Everyone here had a wonderful time, particularly our residents who loved the traditional summertime theme.”

Gillian Irish, Home Manager at Parker Meadows, said:

“Even though it was raining outside, the sun was definitely shining in here! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the residents were delighted to be joined by so many people.”
