Hicare care homes host summer fetes raising £672 for resident activities


Limbo dancing at Spencefield GrangeHicare homes, Spencefield Grange and Meadow’s Court both held fun and exciting summer fetes on the 10th and 11th July respectively. The public were invited to join our residents and staff in the fun and games that were being hosted on the day.

Meadow’s Court held an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed day on Saturday 11th July. There were a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy including ‘paint the roses red’, croquet, a bouncy castle and a singer and piano performance. There were Sponge Throwing Game at Spencefield Grangealso cake stalls and card stalls.

Spencefield Grange took this opportunity to proudly celebrate their 20th Anniversary, having been registered since 1995. The theme at Spencefield Grange was a Caribbean Carnival. They were privileged to receive a steel band performance courtesy of Sophia Steel Band entertainment which really added to the colourful and vibrant atmosphere in the home. There was a variety of Caribbean flavoured foods and carnival styled games to fully embrace their carnival theme. Residents and visitors especially enjoyed the limbo dancing and conga line around the home, as well as the wet sponge throwing game and Staff Dress Up at Meadow's Courthook a duck.

Both events were a great success and the homes managed to raise a fantastic £672.00 for resident comfort funds.
