To celebrate National Carers Week, CLS Care Services is offering to provide free day care at homes right across the North West.
The free, flexible day care service, available throughout the week of 8th – 14th June from 7am – 10pm, is a chance for carers to recharge their batteries while their loved one enjoys a welcome change of scenery at a CLS home.
Carers Week is a UK-wide annual awareness campaign, which this year focuses on building Carer Friendly Communities; communities which support carers to look after their loved ones well, while recognising that they are individuals with needs of their own.
Carers Week will also highlight the impact of caring on daily life, and celebrate and recognise the contribution that the UK’s 6.5 million carers make to the lives of those they care for.
Head of Service at CLS Homes, Sheila Wood-Townend, said: “We understand that caring for a loved one is a tough job, and sometimes you might need a break. Day care can offer a bit of time away from the normal routine and a rest for everybody involved, which can be good for both carer and the person being cared for.
“Carers make a hugely valuable contribution to our society and we are keen to help spread this message by celebrating campaigns such as Carers Week. There’s a lot of good support and information out there, and knowing about it can make all the difference to a carer’s life.”
