Castleoak, the specialist construction and development partner for care and retirement living, today announces a £7.4m turnkey care home development deal in Abbeymeads, Swindon, for new customer Milestones Trust.
Having identified the site and executed detailed market and demographic analysis, Castleoak achieved planning permission and secured Bristol-based care and support operator, Milestones Trust, as the end user.
Commenting on the new development, Milestones Trust CEO, John Hoskinson, said: “Castleoak is our designated builder and developer. As leaders in their field we are confident they will bring with them a wealth of experience in the build and development of dementia care homes. The design has been co-developed by Castleoak and Milestones Trust. Castleoak has been supportive throughout the process and we are very pleased with the cutting edge, future-proof design.”
The 73-bed care home, known as Abbey House, is funded by the Trust. As its largest care home to date, it will provide residential, nursing and specialist dementia care. It has been designed by Castleoak to meet Stirling Gold Dementia Care standards and will feature indoor gardens on the upper floors. Bedrooms are designed to convert into small apartments to accommodate couples if required and provide future flexibility.
Castleoak’s Managing Director of Development, Steve Bucknell, says: “We have worked collaboratively with Milestones Trust to understand its development aspirations. We look forward to delivering a care home which will provide quality living space and be a major asset to its existing portfolio.”
Abbey House will open Summer 2016.
