Innovative housing provider, Places for People and specialist care village operator English Care Villages have formed Inspired Villages, a partnership to develop and operate two retirement villages offering high quality homes with a range of social and leisure facilities for the over 65s.
The new partnership is bringing forward two developments in Warwickshire and Cheshire with a combined Gross Development Value of £110m. The company is likely to become a significant player in this £5 billion market.
With work already underway on both sites, the developments will provide a range of apartments for sale and rent to meet different budgets; together with restaurant and dining options, a library, and a wellness centre for spa, leisure and clinical use. Residents will enjoy an extensive social and education programme coupled with dedicated transport to destinations of their choice. Local residents will also be encouraged to use the facilities and participate in the social programme.
The English Villages team has more than 25 years’ experience in site assessment, business modelling, design, site promotion, project management, sales and marketing as well as operations. An insightful approach allied to an obsessive attention to detail and a constant drive for improvement will ensure these villages meet the aspirations of its exacting clientele.
Mary Parsons, group director of placemaking and regeneration at Places for People, said: “We have a 50-year track record of providing high-quality housing and support services, including homes for the over 65s and those requiring care and support. This extensive experience, combined with that of English Care Villages, means we understand what’s needed to make a community thrive. Our aim is to deliver luxury retirement villages providing a broad range of services and facilities that appeal to both those that need care and aspirational buyers attracted by the lifestyle that these schemes offer.”
Keith Cockell, Chairman of English Care Villages added: “Through our partnership with Places for People, we can provide a very attractive option for the over 65s who are now living longer, healthier and more active lives and see retirement as a time for new beginnings. “
“Each village is designed to provide residents with a high quality of life and different support options to meet their changing needs. Accommodation is safe and secure, but promotes independent living, choice and flexibility. It’s a model that we have implemented successfully in other parts of the country and one we look forward to developing with Places for People.”
