New support for people with learning disabilities in Hampshire

DimensionsHampshire County Council has awarded not-for-profit support provider Dimensions contracts to support 150 people with a variety of learning disabilities throughout the county.

Although the service officially began on 30th March, Dimensions’ management has been preparing for several months to ensure the transfer goes smoothly; this includes employing about 350 staff from the outgoing providers which will maintain continuity of support.

Jay Dixon, Dimensions’ operations director for the area, said: “Dimensions is known for being a forward thinking organisation, and a real pioneer in person-centred thinking. From our existing work in Hampshire, we know that the County Council values the way we create bespoke local support packages to help individuals with autism or learning disabilities to live the life they choose”

Dixon added, “This contract award is testament to Dimensions’ local quality and national reputation. We very much look forward to welcoming everyone we will be supporting, their families and their support staff, to Dimensions.”
