The Deputy Mayor of Kidsgrove, Councillor Sylvia Dymond, visited the site of the new Kidsgrove Carehome, Maple Tree Court; on Wednesday 1 April as LNT Construction complete the landmark stage of “topping out” the new purpose built care home.
The practice of “Topping out” a new building can be traced back to the ancient Scandinavian religious practice of placing a tree on the top of a building to appease the tree-dwelling spirits of their ancestors that had been displaced.
The Care home, which has sister homes in Chesterton, Holden Bridge and Bentilee has been designed and constructed by LNT Construction. On its completion, the home will provide care for 64 older people. The home will be operated by Ideal Care Homes; a Leeds based company that has an established track record in delivering first-class services for older people.
Mark Greaves, Managing Director of Ideal Carehomes said; “We are really excited to see the next Ideal Carehome, Maple Tree Court, taking shape and the “topping out” ceremony brings us one step closer to the opening of the home. We are looking forward to showcasing the great facilities we have on offer when the home opens – it is a great home, in a great location that will create around 50 jobs for local people. We are sure it will soon become a key part of the local community like its sister homes Chesterton Lodge, The Cedars and Park Hall.”
The luxurious home from home facility will provide residential and dementia care with 100% en-suite accommodation, landscaped sensory gardens and its own hairdressing salon.
