Staff at Woodlands House residential care home in the New Forest recently hosted a fun-filled ‘Easter table top sale’ for friends, family and members of the local community.
Having enjoyed massive success back in January with a similar event, where they raised £113.00 for Age Concern Hampshire, residents decided that this was definitely a fundraiser worth repeating and a fun way of celebrating the Easter break with their friends and family!
Woodlands House was delighted to welcome an overwhelming amount of people to the home on Wednesday 1st April, where they spent the afternoon browsing the variety of stalls, socialising with different residents and enjoying delicious refreshments.
The sale started at 2.30pm, with a large variety of different goods on offer, including cakes, handbags, jewellery, ornaments and a fantastic clothes sale which took place in the library.
Raising an amazing total of £233.85, Woodlands House was delighted to donate the funds to Age Concern Hampshire, their chosen charity for the year.
Home Manager, Amanda Tanner, said “There was not a better way to celebrate Easter … Woodlands was buzzing! I was absolutely delighted to welcome such a large amount of visitors into Woodlands House and to share such a memorable day with them. I am so happy that we have made such great connections within the local community and I am really looking forward taking our residents to some of their upcoming events”.
