Ideal Care Homes-Care Industry News (250 x 99)Popular soap actor Alan Halsall, who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, brought a touch of the cobbles to three Ideal Carehomes in the North East on Saturday 21 March.

Alan, along with his real life wife actress Lucy-Jo Hudson,  best known for her roles as Katy Harris in Coronation Street and Rosie Trevanion in the ITV drama Wild at Heart, were guests of honour at various Coronation Street themed events at Wynyard Woods (Sedgefield), The Maple (Stockton-on-Tees) and Middlesbrough Grange (Ormesby).

The actors mingled with residents and their families, signed autographs and had photographs taken.  Residents also took part in a raffle to win Coronation Street goodies signed by the pair.

Alan commented: “Lucy-Jo and I were delighted to visit residents at all the homes. They provide a valuable service to their local communities so it was an absolute pleasure for us to be part of it, and to meet the residents and staff who work there.”

The three homes are part of the Leeds based Ideal Carehomes, all of which boast 100% en-suite accommodation, dining and quiet lounge facilities and on-site hairdressing salon.

Ideal Carehomes prides itself on being a great place to live. Chairman and Founder of Ideal Carehomes, Lawrence Tomlinson said:

“Holding an event like this creates a great atmosphere in the home for both the people who live with us and their loved ones.  It is a real pleasure for us to have Alan and Lucy-Jo take time out of their busy schedules to come and visit us. Everyone has had a really great day and thrown themselves into the Coronation Street themes.”
