National home care franchisor Caremark Limited have officially launched the new Care Certificate to its network, in line with the expectation of the Care Quality Commission for social care providers and Skills for Care.
Franchisees from across the care provider’s network gathered at the Regency Hotel in Solihull where they were able to benefit from a detailed presentation by Caremark’s National Training Manager, Lynda Godding on the new Care Certificate which came into force yesterday and its implementation into Caremark’s policies and procedures.
The Care Certificate replaces the Common Induction Standards for care workers and has been produced to address inconsistencies in training and competencies in the workforce.
This new approach can only serve to complement Caremark’s robust training methods for its care staff. Ms Godding’s use of the guidelines and subsequent production of a very straightforward and user-friendly training framework was welcomed by franchisees.
Helan Graham, Director of Caremark (Oldham) commented: “We think this has been absolutely fantastic today. We think this system will be a lot simpler and a lot more compact and now we will be able to have this new Care Certificate in place and up and running as soon as we get back to the office.”
A north east franchisee commented: “Today has been very interesting and informative. I am glad that one of the leading care providers has promoted this first as this cannot be taken away from us and the first thing I am going to do is get this announcement up on our website. I will also get some letters out to our stakeholders and let them know what we are doing.” said Sanjay Pancholi, Caremark (Charnwood).
Extensive work was done by Caremark to ensure all their franchisees were appraised of this change and equipped and confident to use the Care Certificate, ready for its official implementation which was 1st April 2015.
