Swanton Care and Community, a highly respected provider of care and support for those with learning and physical disabilities and mental health support needs, is moving into its new offices and strengthening its own brand, after becoming independent from leading care provider Barchester Healthcare.
From 9th March 2015, Swanton, which has 28 services across England, Scotland and Wales, will be based in Coventry. The new, centrally-located office is a reflection of Swanton’s growing and evolving independent identity and determination to continue successfully providing person-centred care across Britain.
The new office will provide a support function for all of Swanton’s services across the country, which focus on ensuring service users are able to maximise their independence. Swanton is ideally resourced to provide wraparound support packages which help people to move to more independent placements in their own communities.
In particular, Swanton is investing heavily in step down services for young adults between the ages of 18 and 25, and look forward to supporting each individual with tailored, life changing care.
Dr Alison Rose-Quirie, CEO of Swanton Care and Community, commented:
“This move signals an important moment for Swanton, which is establishing its own strong identity. My team and I are passionate about providing life changing support to those with learning and physical disabilities and mental health needs and our new head office offers a central base from which to do this.
“It is important for providers of support for those with disabilities are vocal about the important work we’re doing. We’re in an election year, witnessing the continued changes following Winterbourne View and monitoring ground-breaking initiatives such as the devolution of the NHS budget in Greater Manchester. We need to be clear that when we discuss care, we don’t only mean care for the elderly and that the voices of those living with all disabilities are heard and acted on.”
Swanton Care and Community provides person-centred care and support to those with learning and physical disabilities and mental health needs. Swanton specialises in complex learning disabilities, and provides expert support for conditions ranging from Autism and Asperger’s, to Down’s Syndrome, schizophrenia, early onset dementia, and acquired brain injury. We particularly specialise in working with people with very challenging behaviour. We offer support ranging from residential to supported living, at all times working closely with families and local organisations to maximise our service users’ independence.
