An experienced Carer at Debaliol Nursing Home, which is in Newbiggin by the Sea and part of Care Living, is celebrating after achieving a prestigious industry qualification.
Michelle Moss, who has been a carer at Debaliol Nursing Home for 12 years, achieved an NVQ Level 3 in care and is now training as a Senior Carer at the home.
She has also completed competencies in venepuncture and clinical observations and is currently undergoing training in safe handling of medicines.
Based on Woodhorn Road, Debaliol Nursing Home provides residential and nursing care for 56 elderly residents. All bedrooms are en-suite and the home has two day lounges, two dining rooms and private gardens and patio areas for residents and their visitors to enjoy.
Julia Rose, Debaliol Nursing Home Manager, said: “We are all extremely proud of Michelle for working really hard and achieving her NVQ Level 3 in care, which is a significant qualification in the industry. It is important to have a motivated and qualified team to ensure residents receive the best possible care.
“Michelle is an integral part of the motivated and hard-working team that we have at DeBaliol care home and we are delighted that she is now training as a Senior Carer.”
Michelle Moss said: “I’m thrilled to have gained my NVQ Level 3 in Care; I put a lot of work and effort into the course. The qualification will be extremely beneficial in helping me to progress my career in care and the day-to-day work I do at Debaliol Nursing home.”
