The team at Boulters Lock residential care home in Maidenhead were delighted to announce that, following discussions with staff and residents, they have decided to nominate Age UK Berkshire as their chosen charity for 2015.
To launch their fundraising efforts they organised an open day at the home on 11th March in order to provide staff, family carers and residents with plenty of information about the charity that will benefit from all their fundraising efforts.
Gary Johnson from Age UK Berkshire set up an information desk in the home for the afternoon, gave an informative talk about Age UK and enjoyed spending some one to one time with the residents.
The afternoon was a great success and everyone have a lovely time.
Boulters resident Joyce Healey said “It was very worthwhile listening and I found out that there is a lot more to Age UK than I first thought.”
Gary Johnson from Age UK said “I had the most enjoyable time, introducing different products and services that Age UK Berkshire can make available to the residents at Boulters Lock. I found talking to residents extremely easy with many great conversations taking place. Boulters Lock is a lovely warm group and it was a pleasure to meet everyone there.”
Home Manager, Paul Morris said “This is a charity very close to our hearts and we are delighted to be able to offer our support this year. We are really looking forward to all the fabulous fundraising events and activities that we have planned for the year.”
