A DORSET care home had a flipping good time by celebrating Shrove Tuesday with a pancake time trial.

Staff and residents at Colten Care’s The Aldbury in Poole competed to see who could toss their pancakes the most within the space of a minute.

In a hard-fought contest George Collins, 91, came close with 26 flips but the eventual winner was Pam Legg, 75, with an impressive score of 30.

Bianca Turner, Activity Organiser, said the competition had been great fun.

“Everyone did very well, especially George, but Pam was the clear winner and received a box of chocolates for her efforts,” Bianca added.

Five residents at The Aldbury took part in the contest as well as several staff.
