
Ukip has today revealed plans to invest an extra 3 billion a year in the health service. Among the measures unveiled by Ukip is a commitment to invest 650 million by 2020 in dementia research – double the amount set out by David Cameron.

Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive at Alzheimer’s Society said:
‘A commitment to more dementia research from all parties is most welcome. But we also need to see better care and support for people with dementia today. More training for existing staff and funding for social care should be high on everyone’s agenda.’
