Resident’s over at Embrace Group’s Birchwood Court in Peterlee have put their creative energies into a new project – creating their own newspaper.
The finishing touches to the inaugural edition of the Birchwood Times have been made and residents, relatives and staff members are enjoying reading the features which focus on local issues and provide updates on Birchwood Court.
Resident Bill O’Neill has been appointed Editor in Chief, who will be supported by Laura Gibbons, a staff member who will be acting as Features Editor. The paper will be published bi-monthly.
Editor in Chief, Bill commented:
“I am really pleased to be involved in this project at the home. It’s an exciting experience that I am really looking forward to”.
Natalie Myers, Manager at Birchwood Court, said:
“We are all really excited to see the “Birchwood Times” take shape. The residents have been busy drafting articles and sourcing news and we are all really pleased with the first edition. We look forward to the next instalment!”
