Staff at Barton on Sea care home, Bethel House, made a special effort to bring extra smiles to their residents’ faces this Valentine’s Day. From arts and crafts to a fun music session, residents couldn’t help but feel the love at the weekend!
In advance of the ‘big day’ residents got stuck in and made some lovely heart shaped decorations to hang up around the home and remind everyone of the celebrations that were planned for the weekend. While they worked, residents and staff chatted about their fondest memories of Valentine’s Days gone by and enjoyed several trips down memory lane!
Then on Saturday residents were delighted to be joined by friends and relatives for an afternoon of their favourite music when Sadie from Strictly Entertainment performed her Valentine Cabaret Show. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the show and Sadie was thrilled to see many residents singing along or getting up for a dance. Afterwards, residents and their guests tucked into a delicious homemade buffet while they relaxed together in the lounge.
Bethel House resident, Kathleen Smith summed up the day by saying it was “Absolutely wonderful.”
Home Manager, Debbie Deacon said “Valentine’s Day was a lovely occasion at Bethel House once again this year. Everyone really entered into the spirit of the occasion and it was wonderful to welcome so many visitors to the home and to spend time chatting to residents about some of their favourite Valentine’s Day memories.”
