National social charity Community Integrated Care would like to extend its sincere congratulations to its Trustee, Susan Brimelow, who was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours.
Susan, who is Chief Inspector at the Healthcare Environment Inspectorate, received the honour in recognition of her Services to Patient Care and Safety.
Susan was appointed as the Chief Inspector of the Healthcare Environment Inspectorate at the end of September 2009. In her role, she leads inspection teams and, together with the involvement of the public, ensures that infection control measures within hospital environments throughout NHS Scotland are of the highest standard. Susan is a Registered Nurse and has held a variety of posts in the NHS, Scottish Government and with the Care Commission in Scotland.
She joined Community Integrated Care in February 2014, as part of the charity’s recruitment of leading experts from both the social care and corporate sectors to its Board of Trustees, to contribute to their implementation of an ambitious Five Year Strategy. She is also an active member of its Scottish Advisory Group, which reviews key social care policy issues in Scotland.
Neil Matthewman, Chief Executive of Community Integrated Care, says: “Susan has made an exceptional contribution to the health and social care sector throughout her distinguished career. We are delighted to see that she has received this worthy recognition. On behalf of Community Integrated Care, I would like to give Susan our sincere congratulations for this success.”
