New Care Projects’ Allingham House Care Centre, on Deansgate Lane in Timperley, has received the prestigious Trafford Dignity in Care Award.

Part of a national awareness campaign, the Dignity in Care Award recognises homes, hospitals and individuals who demonstrate respect for residents, offer a personalised service, encourage independence and confidence, listen, act to alleviate loneliness and engage with families.

The Dignity in Care campaign’s core values are all about having dignity in our hearts, minds and actions, with the overall aim of changing the culture of services; placing greater emphasis on improving the quality of care and enhancing the experience of those living in care homes, using NHS hospitals and receiving home help services.

Before receiving the title ‘Trafford Dignity in Care Award’, Allingham House was assessed over a period of time, with both paperwork and best practice comprehensively reviewed, with the award presented by Philomena Ferrell at Trafford Council.

In addition to Allingham House Care Centre receiving the award, the home now boasts eight members of staff who hold the title ‘Dignity Champion’, including home manager Gulzar Nazir.

A Dignity Champion believes passionately that being treated with respect, kindness and dignity is a human right.  The Allingham House Dignity Champions are advocates of this and regularly attend specific training courses to ensure they can share and impart their knowledge with other staff members within the home.

Chris McGoff, CEO of New Care Projects, comments: “Receiving this award is a superb achievement for all involved at Allingham House. It was a team effort so we are thrilled the home has been recognised and rewarded the Trafford Dignity in Care Award.

“I am particularly pleased for the eight individuals who were also named Dignity Champions.  Assets to the company, they always go the extra mile to ensure we offer an exceptional quality of care to all residents at Allingham House, showing respect and dignity at all times, and they are very worthy recipients of this award.”

New Care Projects is the operator of two industry leading care homes; Allingham House Care Centre on Deansgate Lane in Timperley and Manorhey Care Centre on Stretford Road in Urmston.  Both homes boast an exceptional clinical offering, including residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, in an expertly designed and purpose-built environment.  A third care home is currently under construction in Nottinghamshire.
