Akari-CINResidents at Bridge View care home, which is based in Stakeford and is part of Akari Care, welcomed a special VIP guest to officially open their newly refurbished home.

Staff and residents were joined by members of the public as they watched local Councillor, Ray Butler, cut the ribbon and officially launch the new look home.

To celebrate the refurbishment, the home opened its doors for the local community to look around the brand new premises while local singer, Colin Summers, performed songs from a range of eras for guests. Refreshments were provided along with a tombola, raffle and jewellery stall for residents and members of the public to enjoy.

The home, which specialises in care for elderly residents, has benefited from a refurbishment to both its interior and exterior, which has enhanced the surroundings for residents and visitors.

The refurbishment work involved a redecoration of the entire care home, including bathrooms, communal areas and bedrooms with new carpets, tiles, curtains, furniture and soft furnishings.

Based on Ashington Drive, Bridge View Care Home provides specialist care for 61 elderly residents.

Irene Wallis, Manager at Bridge View care home, said: “The refurbishment has made a real difference in the home and the residents are very pleased with their new surroundings.

“The refurbishment has been a great opportunity to open our doors and show the local community all of the wonderful things we have going on in the home. Quality is at the heart of everything we do and that includes the environment of our home, which we like to keep as fresh and comfortable for our residents as possible.

“We would like to say a big thank you to Councillor Ray Butler and Colin Summers who made the open day a great success.”
