Residents at a Thornbury care home enjoyed songs by the 1970s hit singers The Carpenters, when they were joined by a local singer and her father who perform music by the popular duo.
The pair sang songs from The Carpenters heyday in an event held at Mandale House on Monday 8th December.
They performed old-time favourites including ‘Close To You’ and ‘There’s a Kind Of Hush (All Over the World’), which were well-received by the residents.
Home Manager Chris Reason said: “The performance was wonderful and it was great to see the residents listening intently and really enjoying themselves.
“Music is often a trigger for memory and so the event allowed our residents to reminisce and remember past experiences, as well as providing entertainment.
“The songs were very popular in the 1970s and many people joined in and sang along to the most famous numbers. We hope that the singers will return for another performance at some point in the future.”
