Rothesay volunteers needed to help out with social activities

Foley court-care industry newsFoley Court, Bield’s Retirement Housing development in Rothesay, is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to spend a couple of hours each month helping out with the social activities.

The appeal comes as a result of the success of previous social activities held at the development, which give tenants the chance to socialise and interact with their neighbours.

Liz Chandler, scheme manager at the development said:  “Social activities such as coffee mornings or games afternoons really help to enrich the lives of our tenants.

“We are always looking for ways to benefit our tenants and the positive feedback we have received regarding various events in the past proves that social activities are a great way to get tenants out and about.

“The support they receive from our volunteers encourages those who stay at Foley Court to socialise and interact with the others and instils a real sense of community.”

Foley Court is looking for volunteers available on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and on Thursday evenings, to help organise and co-ordinate social events, serve refreshments and assist tenants to and from these events.

If you are over 16 and interested in becoming part of team dedicated to enriching the lives of older people in Scotland, please call Liz Chandler on 01700 503 636.
