One of Scotland’s leading housing and care providers for older people, is in the limelight as Bield Housing & Care have achieved the Volunteer Friendly Award in Dundee.
Volunteer Centre Dundee held the awards, which were hosted by Lord Provost Bob Duncan, at Dundee City Chambers to present Bield with the accolade after recognising their efforts to incorporate effective volunteer recruitment processes and procedures.
The award demonstrates that Bield’s housing and care team in Dundee are committed to involving volunteers in roles which are rewarding for both them and their service users.
Jeni Sinclair, Volunteer Development Worker for Bield in Dundee, said: “It’s a really great feeling to be recognised and acknowledged by the Volunteer Centre Dundee.
“Volunteers play an incredibly important role within Bield because they assist with important things such as activities and social interaction within our services and developments”.
“Their support is vital to the provision of social activities such as coffee mornings, games afternoons and bingo nights which our service users so look forward to”.
“Volunteers really highlight and share our belief that we can enrich the lives of people who use our services as fully as possible and so their help and contribution to Bield is priceless.”
The award also credits the team with recruiting volunteers fairly, managing and supporting them effectively, as well as highlighting their own efforts to celebrate the contribution volunteers make across the organisation.
