Broadcaster, journalist, presenter and Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, Angela Rippon OBE has officially opened Green Tree Court care home in Exeter. Developed, designed and built by leading care home developer, Castleoak, the home is owned and run by Lexicon Healthcare, which specialises in providing exceptional care home environments with the very best clinical care and support.
Green Tree Court offers 68 large and luxuriously furnished ensuite bedrooms and facilities including a contemporary café, hair and beauty salon, holistic therapy suite, gym, cinema room, library, communal balconies and greenhouse. It also includes a living wall and an impressive feature wall fish tank in the main corridor, which can be seen from multiple spaces.
The first floor dementia care wing is currently working to attain the internationally recognised Stirling Gold Standard for dementia friendly design, which it is believed will make it a first in the West Country.
Lexicon Healthcare’s CEO Stephen Pattrick said: “We offer clinical excellence combined with an enriching and fulfilling new lifestyle. This is why we believe Green Tree Court sets an exceptional blueprint for a new standard of care home in the UK.”
Angela Rippon OBE adds: “It is extremely pleasing to be here and witness the first class facilities and philosophy of care at the home, which will make such a huge difference to the resident’s quality of care and life.”
Having acquired the site, Castleoak secured planning consent for Green Tree Court and designed it to meet the BREEAM Excellent standard in sustainable building design, ensuring low environmental impact and a comfortable environment for residents.
