Granny needs YOU!

Last year The Little Group, a recruitment and care compliance company working in the Health and Social Care Sector, launched the Gift for Granny Christmas gift appeal. The appeal asked members of the public to donate a Christmas gift which was then delivered to a resident in a local care home who may have not seen anyone over the Christmas period. The campaign was a huge success and so the company have decided to run the campaign again, but this year they wish to do so on a bigger scale. To do this, they need volunteers.

Managing Director, Stacey Crowther, said “We were totally amazed at the fantastic response we received for Gift for Granny last year. Due to the very kind donations made by members of the public and local companies we managed to achieve our ultimate aim – delivering Christmas gifts to elderly people living in care homes and trying to spread some festive cheer”.

Stacey continued, “The main purpose of Gift for Granny is to make a difference to the lives of older people and to give them a gift at Christmas, especially those who may not usually receive anything. We are now asking for volunteers to help us make the campaign bigger and better this year”.

The Little Group are looking for volunteer businesses to act as a drop off centre for gifts as well as individual volunteers to help wrap and distribute the gifts to residents in care homes in their local area.

Stacey said, “We are looking for people primarily in and around Yorkshire and the North East initially, but welcome support from anyone not based in these areas who want to help out. We have created a pack which explains exactly what being a volunteer will entail. Alongside volunteers we are also looking for companies who are a willing to act as drop off centres for gifts.”
