Blackburn social care operator secures Santander funding for expansion


GS Social Care-Care industry newsBlackburn-based GS Social Care Solutions, a leading family-run social care business, is set to expand its operations after receiving £250,000 in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.


GS Social Care Solutions provides support and care to a broad range of client groups, including working with toddlers and children to set boundaries; helping adults and children suffering from learning difficulties; complex health care; Autistic Spectrum Disorders; Dementia (including early onset and other associated conditions); ADHD; and a range of physical disabilities and mental health needs.


Following a sustained period of growth, the company has purchased an old church building in Great Harwood for redevelopment and plans to hire more staff to cater for its growing client base. The new premises will serve as a fully inclusive community centre for all ages and abilities.


The business was founded in 2006 by Dorothy and Glyndwr Gould with their three daughters, Danielle, Faye and Ashleigh. GS Social Care Solutions currently has 11 full and part-time staff, with plans to increase this further by the end of 2014. The business also has the support of over 90 part-time community workers.
