Evermore, a start-up that offers a new model for living well in older age in the UK, has announced the appointment of Jennie Azizi as Chief Operating Officer.
The former Operations Director of Care UK joins Evermore as it finalises its plans to revolutionise the UK care and retirement living market. The first village has already been revealed at Northlight in Brierfield, and a further eight villages are in the pipeline with plans to build 20 by 2020.
Prior to her role at Care UK, Jennie was Regional Operations Director at Anchor and held senior managerial roles with Marks & Spencer, Asda and Esporta.
Evermore Founder and Director of Market Innovation, Sara McKee, said the combination of Jennie’s retail experience and her role as a senior leader in two top 5 care providers made her the perfect candidate.
Sara said: “We want to shake up the industry and set a new standard in the lifestyle choices available to older people who are looking for companionship, support, and happiness most of all. We are abandoning the bureaucracy and institutionalisation associated with the current system in favour of the customer and relationships.
“We need someone who is not afraid to innovate, and challenge established ways of working. Jennie has what it takes to do just that, while motivating our team, delivering exceptional customer service and strong financial results.”
Speaking about her decision to leave an established player for a new entrant, Jennie said: “There is a real need to change the living choices for older people as the current system just doesn’t work. At Evermore we have an opportunity to break the mould, to create an environment where older people can live happy knowing they have comfort, security and friendship.”
The Evermore proposition will radically change the housing and care choices for people in later life. It offers security and independence of owning your own apartment combined with the companionship of living in a family household environment.
The key difference at Evermore will be the service provided by self-managed teams of Mulinellos. They will be multi-skilled and empowered to deliver the support needed by customers, from cooking to personal care, to enhance their health and wellbeing.
