Care Assistant Terry Allan (24) has gained his Train the Trainer for Moving and Handling qualification and Meghan Storrie (22), also a Care Assistant at Wallside Grange, has completed her SVQ Level 3 in Care.
Terry and Meghan were both assessed on theory work and completed practical training sessions to enhance their skills.
Wallside Grange Care Centre, which is based on Lime Road in Tamfourhill, is a 36 bed care home which provides personal and nursing care to elderly residents, some of whom require dementia care.
Stuart Waterfall, Manager at Wallside Grange Care Centre, said: “It is important to have both a caring and well-trained and skilled workforce to ensure that the quality of care is high and consistent.
“We are all extremely proud of Terry and Meghan for working really hard and gaining their qualifications. The theory and skills they both learnt on their respective courses will be put to excellent use every day in their work as Care Assistants at Wallside Grange.”
Meghan Storrie said: “I’m thrilled to have gained my SVQ Level 3 in Care. I put a lot of work into the course and the qualification will be extremely beneficial in helping me to progress my career in care.”
Terry Allan said: “I’m delighted to have gained my Train the Trainer for Moving and Handling qualification and the skills and theory that I gained on the course will be invaluable in enriching the work I do on a day-to-day basis as a Care Assistant at Wallside Grange.”
