Czajka Care Group has raised just over £870 for three charities following a series of fund-raising activities. The Saltaire-based company hosted a successful event at its Fairmount Park Clubhouse in Nab Wood, Shipley and at its Staveley Birkleas care home to raise £359.13 for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the charity’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ campaign.
Residents from Brookfield Residential Care Home, Fairmount Nursing Home and Fairmount Park Retirement Houses, as well as their families, staff, visitors and the general public attended the coffee morning which was arranged by Jasia Czajka, wife of Czajka’s managing director Konrad Czajka.
The company also recently donated £230 to the Shipley Stroke Group, which supports stroke survivors and their carers. Several staff took part in a 36 mile bike ride, whilst others completed a gruelling total warrior challenge and Race For Life at Manningham Park to raise the money.
One of Czajka’s community carers has also donated £281 to Alzheimer’s Society having taken part in the charity’s Memory Walk in Leeds. Diane Eastwood who has worked at Czajka for over 25 years says: “I want to thank my family, friends and everyone at Czajka for all their support and sponsoring me. It’s really heartening how many people put their hands in their pockets when you do an event like this. It’s a cause close to a lot of our hearts. Working in care you see the devastating effects of this disease first hand so it’s very rewarding to be able to make a difference by donating to Alzheimer’s Society which does such vital work.”
Konrad Czajka, managing director of Czajka Care Group, says: “We always welcome the opportunity to support charities like these that do such great work, and we are very proud of everyone who got involved and did their bit to reach a fantastic amount of money.”
